Spatial Information Science Research Group

Welcome to the web site for the Spatial Information Science group at the University of Melbourne. The group consists of members from the departments of Geomatics and Computer Science and Software Engineering.

The group is involved in academic research into many aspects of spatial information science. Spatial information science is a rapidly growing research topic concerned with the computational and cognitive aspects of storing, processing, sharing, and understanding of geospatial information. The group's primary research interests include:

• Indeterminacy and uncertainty in spatial information
• Spatial cognition and qualitative spatial reasoning
• Spatially-aware agents and sensor networks
